How to Get More Traffic and Make More Money on your Blog (100^thHUB)

This is my 100 the Hub. In this hub I want share my experience and lesson I learned (more traffic and money making hubs) while writing hubs. Before I do this I want say thanks to all my fans help me surviving with positive and negative feedback I received on my hubpages. Now here is the lesson I learned to get more traffic to your hubpages. Having all your eggs in one basket is no way to get a good traffic. Create multiple baskets and get real Traffic. Here are some of my ideas:

Pinging: Ping is like raising the red flag on the mailbox to tell the mailman you have new mail to be sent. In this case, you are telling the weblog tracking sites that your site has been updated.

I have noticed a difference in traffic after pinging. I usually ping my site in morning and evening not all the pages, just few blogs who I find has less traffic. I find within half hour my traffic increases to about 20-25%. Here are some free sites I am using for pinging:

2.Submit your site to Bing: Lot of time web crawler can not find most pages on the Internet. However if your site does not appear on Bing, we can send us the address (URL). Here is the link for this:

12.Comments: Always provide some good feedback to other hubbers. Also if somebody comments on your blog. Say thanks to him. One of the most unique aspects of blogging is its social impact. Therefore, it's essential that your blog welcomes readers and invites them to join a two-way conversation.

No matter how much is written about working online from home, it continues to be a hot topic. I just checked with the google adwords tool for the phrase "work from home" and saw that 2,240,000 more people had asked the same question globally this month. I guess making money is always a draw for most people. None of us are millionaires and yes that little extra cash does come in handy.

The work from home opportunities have increased dramatically since the time the internet took root. Today working from home has become an accepted social career. Finding legitimate work from home is no longer a problem. Sure there are some scams that take in the newcomer looking for work at home jobs, but it is possible to weed these out and concentrate on stuff that really allows you to make an income online.

Initially to earn extra cash people would take on data entry jobs from home. It is quite a regular feature even today, but its drone work. It is totally repetitive and there is no creative satisfaction. Which if you consider yourself a writer can be an absolutely frightening experience. I tried it and lasted for exactly one month. Hated every day of it.

Then come the work from home freelance sites. These allow you to bid on jobs and if the employer likes what he sees, you have a project to work on. The rates are all rather flexible. The same 500 word article can fetch you anything from $1 to $10 depending on who you are selling it to. If you can to KWP or Keyword Phrases well to figure in search engine result pages, you can ask for more money per article.

And then there are the membership sites. These allow you to make money online by chatting, gaming, or viewing ads. All of which take a very minimal level of intelligence. They also have online surveys that you get paid for. Unfortunately most of these sites are US centric and do not offer global work at home opportunities.

Now as I mainly earn money through freelancing I am to be found on Odesk, Elance, Guru, Rent a Coder, Get a coder and Get a Freelancer. I initially signed up for all the sites I could lay my hands on. Now I realise that it was not the great idea it seemed at the time. I have multiple mails coming in from all the sites and I am flooded with mails I take ages to sort out.

So despite having dicovered new sites where I can find work such as problogger, wahms, and online writing jobs, besides i freelance, I have decided to stick with the few sites I am comfortable with. So as of now I have projects on in Guru, Elance, and Odesk. I also take up smaller projects on Rent a Coder as and when time permits.

Writing what others want you to write can be economically beneficial but is creatively frustrating. For creative freedom and poetry there is no place like triond. I am very much present there, joined up in May first week. Have recently been paid for the month of May so, I know they are very prompt with the pay.

I am also to be found on Associated Content with just 4-5 articles. I did join them some time back, but found hubpages far more addictive. So I have more hubs here than I have content on Associated Content. On Bukisa with about 35 articles and almost a month, I am no where near their payment threshold of $10. So can't say if they pay or don't. Guess I'll write in an update when these two sites deliver.

Every month it will earn money and as long as the information is current, it will continue to produce. Third, I love that you don't have to deal with inventory (no products to order and ship, no returns, no bad debt) and you have total flexibility when you work. Want to work in a cafe, great. Want to work from home fine. It's up to you. Lastly, you don't have to sell your friends, or push a product that you don't believe in. You can write about things you love. Things you are passionate about. And. Things that help people. It's up to you to be successful. If you create quality content over time, you will earn money.

I have been getting e-mails from a few friends asking me the reason for not having published any hub for more than a week now. It’s so heartening to know that there are people (in Hub Community) who really look forward to reading my articles. So, here I am, again, trying to share something useful, only after getting the first hand experience myself. I know that my observations (which follow) would help only those who are still trying to get into this side of ‘home based business’ and those, who have tried this in the past or are currently engaged in this money making tool, would agree with my assessment.
What was I doing all this while? Surfing…..on the internet. My mail box had literally been overflowing with the ‘Survey offer’ e-mails for the last one month and this nuisance started from the day I, unknowingly, stumbled on a marketing website in search of software for my computer. The only genuine mistake I committed was, to put my e-mail id in a questionnaire placed on their web page and what followed, was a flood of unsolicited e-mails from their affiliates and partner sites. One good thing happened though. I got a chance to test the legitimacy of this online money making system. The way they lure the unsuspecting and needy customers (like you and me) by splashing their flashy and ‘mouth watering’ advertisements all over the internet, prompted me to do some research and ascertain the success of this money making tool. Without exaggerating, the number of survey companies which I tried to explore, was more than a hundred and I wouldn’t be surprised if someone told me that there are thousands of such companies operating within United States only. Most of these companies claim that you can earn anywhere between $50 - $150 per day by taking simple online surveys but believe me the picture they paint is far from being true. This means you are earning less than a dollar in 15 minutes. Depends on how satisfied you would be with that kind of remuneration. I leave it for you to decide. My job is only to place facts on record.

6. Alright, I know you want to tell me that companies do pay $25- $40 for taking surveys. Yes, it’s a fact but how do you get paid that much? Not by simply taking surveys but by completing ‘sponsor offers’ as well. This is the real catch which they wouldn’t let you know at the time of registration. You discover the strings attached, much later. Regarding these ‘sponsor offers’ you have to try their products for which you are supposed to pay anywhere around $8 - $10 (per offer) depending on the kind of product and the trial offer associated with the product. You would be paid a good amount ($25-$40) for completing the survey, only when you try / buy their products. If you want to take that route, It your choice.

I would also say that it is possible for anyone to make money from a blog (I’ve seen people from many countries, of most ages - from children to elderly people - male and female, able bodied to people with a variety of physical hardships and people of different education and social levels make a go of blogging for an income). It is possible but the reality is that most who try don’t make a lot of money.
